Im a 21 year old photographer turning my passion into career
My first memories of photography started at the age of eight, opening a waterproof Kodak EasyShare on Christmas Day and feeling the excitement of being able to freeze a moment in time. That excitement only grew with time and lead to an obsession of all things photo related.
I now spend my weeks working at a local camera store where I learn more about the vast world of photography while helping others with their photographic needs.
Photography for me
Growing up in the age of digital photography, film was always a bit of a mystery to me. The idea of having a tangible image in the form of a negative was something that has always fascinated me and I had trouble wrapping my head around it, that was, until I started shooting with it. About 3 years ago I purchased my first film camera and it instantly made me fall in love with photography all over again. It forced me to slow down and be far more intentional with my work. It made me appreciate the process of photography more than the result which has helped my film and digital work improve. Photography that I do solely for me is like practice for any professional work I do, just on a much bigger scale. I like to look for things that stand out in the world and moments that would otherwise be passed by and turn them into lasting images.
